  • What is prenatal yoga?

Prenatal yoga is a unique class designed specifically for moms in their first, second, and third trimesters. We combine traditional yoga postures with movements tailored to support your changing body and growing baby.

Each session focuses on relieving common pregnancy discomforts, offering safe and nurturing movement, and practicing mantra and breathwork to help you manage pain and stay grounded during labor.

No prior yoga experience? No problem! Most moms who join us are brand-new to yoga. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or stepping onto the mat for the first time, you’ll leave each class feeling empowered with tools to support you through pregnancy, labor, and even into postpartum.

  • What is postpartum yoga?

It’s common for moms to feel disconnected from their core and pelvic floor during pregnancy—you're not alone! Postpartum yoga offers a gentle and intentional movement practice to help you reconnect with and nurture your postpartum body.

And here’s the best part—you don’t have to choose between caring for your baby and caring for yourself. I welcome you to bring your baby along to class, creating a space where both of you can thrive together!

  • What should I bring to class?

Prenatal & Postpartum Yoga: A water bottle and your mat the rest is provided for you!

*Extra mats are available in the studio for your use as well.

Baby&Me Yoga: A small blanket, 1-2 small toys (no lights or sounds please), and anything you need to diaper/feed your baby. Mats are provided for you.

Toddler Yoga Just yourself and your little yogi!

  • When during pregnancy should I come to prenatal yoga?

You can come as early as you find out you are pregnant and continue right up until you give birth.

Have 1st try nausea/fatigue? No worries, yoga might help! Feel free to reach out and I’ll help answer your questions about specific symptoms you are experiencing

At the end of pregnancy, continuing to practice breathwork and keep your body mobile will help you and your baby prepare for labor.

  • What is the difference between postpartum and baby&me yoga?

Postpartum yoga helps you reconnect to your body. This includes healing your core and pelvic floor after pregnancy and birth. Babies are welcome to join you so no childcare is needed to attend.

Baby&me yoga For younger babies, they’ll practice rolling, sitting, stretching, reaching, and crawling. For both classes, they’ll build communication skills, body awareness, and their vocabulary.

Both classes provide you an opportunity to be present with your little one and meet new mom friends.

  • What if I've never done yoga before or have something to look out for?

Over 95% of moms who join us have never been to a yoga class before or have very limited experience. Not to worry! I offer a variety of poses and options for you to take in class to make practice feel safe and accessible to you.

If you have something specific to note (SPD, old wrist injury, etc.), I provide individualized attention and cues to each yogi in class. I’ve got you covered!

  • How are classes different from a typical yoga class?

Prenatal and postpartum yoga classes incorporate parts of a traditional yoga practice, but with specific meaning for your trimester.

Prenatal Yoga is a blend of traditional yoga poses with added safety and knowledge about pregnancy and preparing for labor.

Postpartum Yoga emphasizes poses and breathwork to help you regain connection and control to your core and pelvic floor.

  • What ages are the baby and toddler yoga classes for?

    Baby&me yoga has two sections:

    6 weeks to 8 months + 9 months to 18 months

Toddler yoga is for yogis 19 months to 3 years old

  • What makes Peaceful and Prenatal different?

Where other places just try to make it safe for you, I also add in education, resources, and a sense of comfort that you won’t find anywhere else.

Best of all, you are not just a participant in a class, you are a member of a community. The friendships that I have seen formed in these classes will help you feel connected to other mamas who are on the same journey as you. You have time to chat before and after class, and you’ll get an invitation to our private FB Group to stay connected outside of the studio.

“I’ve lived in Connecticut my entire life so I have a lot of friends and family in the area still. The relationships I have made from this class have been more helpful to me during pregnancy than my life-long friendships because we’re all going through this together.”
